Print Magazine
For this digital design project, I created two magazine covers, each with a distinct visual language and thematic focus. The “ORANGE JULEP” cover, to the left, is energetic with its vibrant orange color palette and big, whimsical font. It evokes a publication about zest and high-energy experiences, perhaps something food-related or about local events. To the right, “CULTURE MONTREAL 24” presents a more sophisticated image with a muted color scheme and a clean, modern look. The cover reflects an attention to high-quality cultural content and urban fashion trends in Montreal.
With inspiration from juxtaposed aesthetics and the power of visual communication, I aimed to create two covers that, as contrasting as they were, both accurately represented their individual magazine’s persona. The “ORANGE JULEP” cover is spontaneous and lighthearted, while “CULTURE MONTREAL 24” is refined and curated. From this exercise, I was able to challenge the versatility of design in depicting differing moods and messages, how color, typography, and composition play in crafting compelling magazine covers.
